Going Forward……

Now I have all of the event images of Duncan I have up in the gallery, plus the stills and promotional images from OUTLANDER, going forward I’ll be posting screencaps as I can. The reason I say this is I have three other OUTLANDER-based sites including Sam Heughan Online, Tobias Menzies Online, and David Berry Online in which I have to screencap. I plan on doing the herculean effort of editing each actor as I go. Fortunately I have all of Tobias’ season one work done, but I will be working on Sam and Duncan, then David when he comes up. Please subscribe to this site’s Twitter feed to keep updated when things are posted. Thank you for your patience.

Duncan | “Outlander” Season 05 HD Stills and Promotional Images

All good things must come to an end. Season five saw the end of Murtagh and Duncan’s involvement in OUTLANDER. Duncan was one of the original three of the show along with Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser), and Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser). No other character in this show was so much an old soul quite the way Murtagh was, and Duncan’s presence in this show going forward will be missed. Thank you Duncan for your care and beauty of soul for embodying everything Murtagh was.

The return of the rebel saw Duncan back as Murtagh for OUTLANDER‘s fourth season where we find out he’s taken the leadership of The Regulators in the lead up to The American War Of Independence. Murtagh’s reunion with Jamie (Sam Heughan) was worth the price of admission alone. Then the “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” refrain when he met up with Claire (Caitriona Balfe).

Duncan | Event Images :: 02/13/2020 – Starz Premiere Event For “Outlander” Season 5

Here Duncan attends the OUTLANDER season five premiere. As we know season five was Duncan’s last season as Murtagh. He’ll be missed for sure. He was the glue that held the show together, the kind of salt-of-the-earth soul that was this show’s greatest asset, which is the reason Ron D. Moore found the need to keep him alive beyond season three and the limited vision of the books.

I also want to provide the best images I can. I hope you enjoy your stay and love Duncan as much as I’ve come to. FAQ

Q: Are you Duncan Lacroix?

A: No, I am not Duncan Lacroix. I am just a resource for his films, television work, …etc.

Q: Do you know how to contact Duncan?

A: No, I don’t know how to contact Duncan, however, he does have a social media presence. If trying to get in touch with him there, please be polite.

Q: Can we take any graphics from your site; IE: Sidebar images, page images, etc.?

A: No. What do they mean to anyone outside of this site? They’ve been created for the explicit purpose of staying on this site and this site alone. Headers on both the main site and the gallery are not available for use.

Q: Can we use images from the gallery for artwork?

A: Yes, certainly. No credit needs to be given in this case since you’ll be using the images for your own creations, however, if you’d like to give a shout out to this site, that would be appreciated.

Q: Can we repost any image from the gallery or any video from the media site anywhere we like?

A: Yes, however, don’t say you did it yourself. A lot of work has gone into creating this site as well as the amount of time it takes to screencap each episode of television work and or film. On average it takes about two to three hours depending on the work. I am providing these images for you free of charge, but not free to take and say it’s yours. Please credit back to this site if you’re posting to any message board. Convenient copy and paste codes are available below each image in the gallery for your convenience and it automatically opens the larger image on click. Please be considerate.

Q: Can I hotlink?

A: No! Hotlinking is not allowed on this site. In fact the webhosting service I use has provided a means by which I can turn off the ability to hotlink…and I have. So don’t do it.

Q: What is hotlinking?

A: Hotlinking is a way that someone right clicks on an image and choses the Properties dialogue to find out the filename. The person then copies that URL and then puts it on their own webpage but not on a webhost service or a photo storage site such as Photobucket, Imageshare, Picasa, or Flickr. When someone visits the page you have copied the URL into, that clicks as a visit on my site therefore it becomes part of my bandwidth that I pay for. So don’t do it.

Q: What is bandwidth?

A: Bandwidth is what I pay for on Bravehost services. It is the method that happens when a person clicks onto this site from a search engine or link on another website.

If you are an original copyright holder of any image, video or write up, please do not take legal action without first contacting the webmaster at the contact form provided. Remember though that anything here is used under FAIR USE and no infringement is intended nor rights implied. I’m sure we can work something out so as not to have to remove anything.

    What is “Fair Use”?

One of the rights accorded to the owner of copyright is the right to reproduce or to authorize others to reproduce the work in copies or phonorecords. This right is subject to certain limitations found in sections 107 through 118 of the copyright law (title 17, U. S. Code). One of the more important limitations is the doctrine of “fair use.” The doctrine of fair use has developed through a substantial number of court decisions over the years and has been codified in section 107 of the copyright law.

Section 107 contains a list of the various purposes for which the reproduction of a particular work may be considered fair, such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Section 107 also sets out four factors to be considered in determining whether or not a particular use is fair:

    1. The purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes
    2. The nature of the copyrighted work
    3. The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole
    4. The effect of the use upon the potential market for, or value of, the copyrighted work
    5. The distinction between fair use and infringement may be unclear and not easily defined. There is no specific number of words, lines, or notes that may safely be taken without permission.
    6. Acknowledging the source of the copyrighted material does not substitute for obtaining permission.

The 1961 Report of the Register of Copyrights on the General Revision of the U.S. Copyright Law cites examples of activities that courts have regarded as fair use: “quotation of excerpts in a review or criticism for purposes of illustration or comment; quotation of short passages in a scholarly or technical work, for illustration or clarification of the author’s observations; use in a parody of some of the content of the work parodied; summary of an address or article, with brief quotations, in a news report; reproduction by a library of a portion of a work to replace part of a damaged copy; reproduction by a teacher or student of a small part of a work to illustrate a lesson; reproduction of a work in legislative or judicial proceedings or reports; incidental and fortuitous reproduction, in a newsreel or broadcast, of a work located in the scene of an event being reported.”

Copyright protects the particular way authors have expressed themselves. It does not extend to any ideas, systems, or factual information conveyed in a work.

The safest course is always to get permission from the copyright owner before using copyrighted material. The Copyright Office cannot give this permission.

When it is impracticable to obtain permission, use of copyrighted material should be avoided unless the doctrine of fair use would clearly apply to the situation. The Copyright Office can neither determine if a certain use may be considered fair nor advise on possible copyright violations. If there is any doubt, it is advisable to consult an attorney.
